Corey Barksdale
 Corey Barksdale was born in Nashville, Tennessee into a family of Artists. He was exposed to color and form at an early age by his grandmother a quilt artist, and his mother who was gifted with an intuitive feeling for design and a fastidiousness for detail which she expressed in all aspects of her daily life. This rich beginning is the root of Barksdale's creative expression.  11/10/10

He is happily married to his wonderful English wife, Maggie, who supports and encourages him in all of his artistic endeavors.

 

*Si-La-Gi *In 1966 he emigrated via Italy to Sweden. There he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Art and later continued his studies at the University of Stockholm (Science of visual arts). He also worked with experimental film and photography in the 1960s and started to work with videos in 1973. He was a pioneer in the mid-1970s who began making installations using video.
